Dr. Abramson has resided in the Philadelphia area for practically all his life and graduated from Lower Merion High School in 1961. He received a Bachelor of Arts Degree from Temple University, College of Liberal Arts, in 1965, and then he attended Villanova University Graduate School, from 1965 through 1967. He graduated from Temple University School of Medicine in 1971, and then spent three years as a resident in internal medicine at Abington Memorial Hospital. He went on to a fellowship in gastroenterology at Lankenau Hospital, completing his training in 1976.
He is board certified in both internal medicine and gastroenterology, and he is an active member of the American Gastrointestinal Association, and is a Fellow in the American College of Gastroenterology. He also has participated in numerous publications on a variety of gastrointestinal disorders.
